Summary
Sven is getting bored with his life in Moac, and as a way to get through a stretch of boredom when everything is on lock-down ---- he reads The Article and he gets obsessed. It details the travels of a group of teens who heard rumours of two kids their age that had disappeared on a far away island.
The Caves is as much about The Article as it is about the kind of caves that we crawl into from time to time, both to escape but also to get out on the other end. These caves are real though, and we quickly learn that these caves are inhabited by creature that's dubbed the Bush Vamp.
This story is about the kind of obsessions that we need to hang on to when times are tough, and also about that impossibility when things get a little too real.
